Keith Fox MISCP, MCSP
Keith qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2000 from Liverpool University with a first class honours degree in physiotherapy. He gained a post graduate diploma in Sports Injury and Management in 2003 from Manchester Metropolitan University. Keith spent six years working in England where he worked with Crewe Alexandra Football Club and more recently Coventry City Football Club. He has also worked with continental professional cycling teams in Belgium and France. Since returning to Ireland in January 2006 he has been working with Westmeath GAA, Leitrim GAA, St Bridgits GAA, Garrycastle GAA, Buccaneers RFC. Keith has worked with the Irish Rugby Senior team since 2012. During this time he has been to 2 World Cups in England and Japan and part of the successful medical team to have won three 6 nations titles(including a Grand Slam). Keith is constantly keeping up to date with the best evidence based practice and regularly holds in-service training to pass on his vast knowledge and experience to all the team at Action Physio.
Helen Taylor MISCP, MSCP
Helen is a fully licensed and practicing chartered physiotherapist. She is one of the co-founding partners of Action Physio. Prior to founding Action Physio, Helen worked in the UK at a specialist orthopaedic teaching hospital where she gained valuable experience in post-operative orthopaedic care and general musculoskeletal disorders. Since co-founding Action Physio in 2006 Helen has worked within the clinic and with local sporting teams and gained a post-graduate diploma in Science of Sports Injury. She is currently working towards completion of her Masters. Besides extensive orthopaedic and musculoskeletal experience, she has recently retrained in women's health to included incontinence treatment and ante-natal and post-natal care. Her other interests include Pilates and acupuncture.
David Kelly MISCP, MCSP
David joined the Action Physio team in April 2019 where his main interest is treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Since qualifying David has obtained further qualification in pilates and strength and conditioning. Besides clinic work, David has also worked with the Roscommon Gaels m and Oran football teams. David has a keen interest in gaelic football and has represented his club from underage up to senior level winning minor and under 21 titles.
Aaron McDermott MISCP, MSCP
Aaron graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of Ulster Jordanstown in 2013. The following year he completed his Masters in Sports & Exercise Medicine where he worked with Scholarship students across a wide variety of sporting disciplines. He commenced working in a busy private practice in Belfast towards the end of his studies and has worked for 3 years in private practice in Belfast and Carrick-on –Shannon prior to starting in Action Physio in April 2017. Aaron has developed a keen interest in the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and screening of all sports injuries both traumatic and overload as well as spinal and orthopaedic conditions. Aaron has obtained further qualifications in dry needling, rehabilitation and preventive Pilates as well as Sports Traumatology and Rehabilitation. Aaron has gained a wealth of experience in the team environment having worked with Roscommon Senior and Minor Gaelic Football, Leitrim Senior Mens Hurling, Connacht Rugby U-19, Western Gaels Senior Gaelic Football, as well as numerous Senior Gaelic Football teams. Aaron believes heavily in evidence based practice and regularly updates himself in relevant diagnostic and treatment methods.
James Sheerin MISCP, MSCP
James graduated from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy. He completed a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from UCD in 2015. His main area of interest is in musculoskeletal and sports injuries. James worked for four years in private practice in his native Wicklow and in Dublin before joining the Action Physio team in 2015. Aside from his Masters, James has also completed further training in dry needling, biomechanics and strength and conditioning. James has a keen interest in many sports and has played Gaelic football, rugby, soccer, golf, tennis and badminton competitively. He is a current member of the Garrycastle senior football team and has previously represented his home county of Wicklow at senior inter-county level and Baltinglass at club level.
Fergal O'Reilly MISCP, MSCP
Fergal graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy (pre-registration). He has a keen interest in sport and musculoskeletal injuries. On becoming a Chartered Physiotherapist in Ireland, he completed a MSc in Sports Performance at the University of Limerick in 2018, gaining strength and conditioning CCC accreditation with the IRFU; as well as ISPAS video analysis; and ISAK anthropometry accreditation. He joined the Action Physio team in January 2019. He has a big interest in team sports, especially Gaelic football, representing club, University at Sigerson level and up to U-21 for Galway at inter-county level. He has worked with various teams and codes such as Kilkerrin/Clonberne GAA club, Kilkerrin United FC, Dunmore RFC, Abbeyknockmoy hurlers, Galway U-17 hurlers, Galway United FC development squads. In addition to this, Fergal has a comprehensive background in traumatology and medical pre-hospital emergencies. Having qualified as a PHECC Emergency Medical Technician 7 years ago, he acquired certification and experience through Clonberne Civil Defence which he has been involved with voluntarily for over 12 years.
